Your mindset is a critical piece of the puzzle in achieving the life you desire. That sounds pretty simple, but it’s not.
One of the simplest ways to change our lives, for the better, is to change the way we view things and perceive things. If you want change, its more important to focus on learning, rather than appearances. Learning is the key to empowerment and change; by learning new things about yourself and the world, you become more able to change your personal outcomes.
Change requires effort; you cannot just coast along and expect things to change. My journey of pursuing a simpler life requires immense effort. And just when I think perhaps I can get comfortable, something will come along and BAM! I need to put all the effort in again. I am starting to realise that this is how it will be, probably for the rest of my life. Especially when we are talking about consumerism, shopping, ‘want’ etc. I’m faced with so many messages and temptations every day, its going to take a lot of effort to keep my boundaries around those things which I feel are important; not buying new, buying ethically, not buying unless absolutely necessary!
So what happens when you make a mistake or drop your boundaries? It’s just a setback! Don’t take it to heart, give yourself the opportunity to learn from the mistake.
Simplicity and minimalism are all about your personal journey; mistakes are a big part of that! Challenge yourself to have a growth mindset, and keep focused on your values and what is important to you.
